Emergency Lighting Solutions at Batteries Plus

Here is a quick look at the backup and exit lighting options available for business use.

LED Dual Lamp Light Emergency Units

These dual lamp emergency fixtures provide a large amount of light in the event of a power failure. The units feature two ultra bright integrated LED lights powered by an internal nickel-cadmium (NiCad) battery that provides a minimum of 90 minutes of backup power. Each LED lamp has a life of 20+ years and consumes 85% less energy than a standard incandescent bulb. They also provide brighter light than the halogen units mentioned below. Comes with a 5-year warranty. Available in a standard LED and higher output (brighter) LED model.

Halogen Dual Lamp Light Emergency Units

These are essentially the same units as above, except they use miniature halogen bulbs instead of integrated LEDs. The bulbs have an average lifespan of 75 hours and will give off light with a more yellow hue than their LED counterparts. Like the LED versions, these units also come with a 5-year warranty and are available in both a standard halogen and high output halogen model.

LED Exit Emergency Unit

These double sided Exit signs feature Universal mounting options, an integrated LED design and a NiCad battery that provides 90 minutes of backup power. Comes with a 5-year warranty and a bulb life of 20+ years. Available in red or green.

LED Emergency Exit Light Combo Unit

This combination unit takes care of both your exit and emergency lighting in one handy fixture. It features both an LED Exit sign and LED dual lamp emergency light. The LED Emergency Exit Light Combo Unit is available in red.

LED/Halogen Emergency Exit Light Combo Unit

The same combo unit mentioned above, except the Exit sign uses an integrated LED and the dual emergency lamp uses halogen bulbs. We offer a green LED/halogen combo fixture, a red LED/halogen combo fixture or a red LED/halogen combo fixture with remote capabilities.

RedCap Emergency Backup T8 LED Tubes

A perfect, all-in-one lighting solution. This high-performance, self-ballasted tubular LED (TLED) can be used in any fixture for both normal operation and as an emergency backup. It has its own integrated nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) batteries, charger, discharger and indicator light. During a loss of power, the light switches to emergency mode. Afterward, the light’s internal batteries automatically recharge themselves once the light is turned off. These RedCap LED tubes are available in three different color temperatures: 3500K, 4000K and 5000K. Read more about the RedCap T8 LED tubes here.

What Kind of Batteries Do Emergency Lights Take?

One thing to keep in mind, while the batteries used to power your emergency lighting are rechargeable, at some point, they will need to be replaced. It’s easy to shop our selection of SLA and NiCad emergency light batteries. Simply select the brand, then model of your emergency lighting unit and you’ll receive a list of compatible backup batteries.

Replacement Bulbs and Ballasts

As time goes by, you may also need to replace the light bulbs on your emergency lighting. We carry LED and halogen reflector emergency light bulbs (keep in mind that the LED units featured above don’t utilize bulbs, however, your system may differ). In addition, we carry an assortment of high performance replacement ballasts for CFL, fluorescent, HPS and metal halide lamps.
