Whether your idea of camping is roughing it in a tent in the woods, or “glamping” in an RV, a successful camping trip is fueled by portable types of power. After all, cell phone batteries need to stay charged, lanterns need to stay lit, and you definitely need a working flashlight to tell spooky stories in the dark. If you’re planning a camping trip, here are a few essential items to help you get the most out of the experience.

Phone Chargers

As tempting as it is to be completely unplugged from the rest of the world, you’ll want to remain reachable just in case. Make sure your cell phone battery charger is up to the task, and more importantly that its cord is sufficiently long enough to comfortably reach a power source. If you know that a power source won’t be handy, you’ll want to bring along a fully charged portable charger that doesn’t require electricity. Depending on your particular phone, choose a model with or without a cord. Or, opt for a PawaMini Single Use power pack, which is a single-use power pack that comes pre-charged right out of the package.

Power Inverters

If you plan on running lights, computers, TVs or other devices from your car or RV’s battery, you’re going to need a power inverter. These power management devices convert your vehicle battery’s direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC) required by most household gadgets. They’re also useful for charging a tablet or cell phone while you drive.

Flashlights and lanterns

Sleeping out under the stars is a great way to experience nature, but it also means dealing with a level of darkness you won’t experience at home. Be sure to have a couple of trustworthy flashlights on hand for when the sun goes down, as well as plenty of replacement batteries.
