7 Openings, 7 States

In the First Quarter, Batteries Plus Bulbs has opened seven new locations in seven states:

  • Palm Desert, CA – Before opening his first Batteries Plus Bulbs store in Temecula in 2015, Southern California native David Harshfield worked in the corporate field for over 25 years, but always had a yearning to be an entrepreneur.
  • Shrewsbury, PA – This is the fourth store for Batteries Plus Bulbs franchise owner Dustin Myers. Dustin joined the company at the age of 24 as a partner with his father. Now, 15 years later, Dustin has grown independently and become one of the company's most successful franchisees.
  • Hamilton Township, NJ – Ed and Sue McAvoy opened their first Batteries Plus Bulbs in Turnersville, NJ in 2016. Ed was previously CEO for a private equity firm but eventually wanted to move beyond a corporate environment. Eager to expand, the couple is thrilled to have this second location.
  • Riverton, UT – New franchisee Rusty Isakson is an Air Force Veteran and retired member of the police force and Attorney General's office. He and his wife are excited to finally move forward with their lifelong dream of owning their own business.
  • California, MD – First-time franchise owner John Ray is also a local attorney and Navy veteran. He's eager to expand his professional acumen and believes that Batteries Plus Bulbs gives him a great opportunity to do so.
  • Cypress, TX – After living in Cypress for more than 11 years, mother-son franchise owner duo Jas Kahlon and Gary Sandhu saw how much the city grew over the last decade, and wanted to continue the momentum by opening the town's first Batteries Plus Bulbs store.
  • Springfield, MA – This is a new corporate store and the first in the area. Batteries Plus Bulbs currently has 62 corporate stores. By operating these locations, we're able to put our support and systems to the test, continually fine-tune and improve our business model, and pass along those benefits to franchisees.

These small business owners come from all walks of life. They're now serving their communities with expert phone and tablet repair, and an extensive selection of batteries and bulbs.

Hungry for More

In addition to 7 store openings, Batteries Plus Bulbs is on track to have an extremely successful year:

  • Signed agreements from 11 new and existing franchisees between January 1 – March 31
  • Set to open an additional 30 new stores by the end of the year
  • Carry momentum to sign an additional 30 new agreements by the end of 2018

"The drive of our new franchisees, who've taken the leap to pursuing their financial goals through franchise ownership, inspires us," notes Russ Reynolds, Batteries Plus Bulbs CEO. "They've recognized that being part of our expansion efforts is the place to be. Industries like batteries, bulbs, and phone repair aren't a novelty – they'll always be in demand. Investing in a Batteries Plus Bulbs franchise is a wise decision."

Seeking Entrepreneurs

The company is seeking people with an entrepreneurial spirit, excited to help solve customers' problems and find solutions. Batteries Plus Bulbs welcomes people without previous experience. No other retailer offers these products and services in one place. Franchise owners can also earn revenue from commercial accounts, including schools, municipalities, and more. Batteries wear out.
