Dan Kopp is currently a successful franchisee of the battery and light bulb chain Batteries Plus Bulbs, but prior to embarking on his entrepreneurial journey Kopp spent six years as a member of the U.S. Air Force. After his service in the military, Kopp returned to the states to pursue higher education while simultaneously holding a full-time job at Sprint. Years of 60-hour work weeks became cumbersome on Kopp and his family, so in 2007 he decided to call it quits and become his own boss opening his first Batteries Plus Bulbs location in Overland Park, Kansas. Today, Kopp prepares for the opening of his second franchise location with Batteries Plus Bulbs, this time partnering with his friend and fellow veteran Scott Neuburger. The two plan for their new location in Northland to do more than supply batteries and light bulbs, they aim to be problem-solvers and the go-to source for all questions and issues regarding batteries and lighting.
