Father-son team Don and Ryan Tollefson already operate five successful Batteries Plus Bulbs locations throughout the Sacramento area, and now they’ve decided that Folsom is the right destination for their sixth. Don Tollefson began with the company in 1995 when he opened his first Batteries Plus Bulbs franchise (Batteries Plus at the time), much to the dismay of family and friends who couldn’t see a business model centered strictly around batteries working. Luckily for Don they were wrong. With the addition of light bulbs in their stores’ inventories in 2012 and the most recent extension offering smartphone repairs, the company’s ability to evolve its model has resulted in sustained success for the Tollefson family and its other franchisees.
