Batteries Plus Bulbs is opening a new store in Avondale, Arizona and franchise owner Wayne Ohland looks forward to continuing his strong relationship with the company. Ohland opened his first Batteries Plus Bulbs store in 1995 in Phoenix and since then he has opened stores throughout the greater Phoenix area with the Avondale location being his tenth. Originally planned to open in 2009, Ohland had to postpone the Avondale location due to the financial downturn but he now looks forward to providing the area with all of their battery and light bulb needs. Ohland says he chose to invest in the Batteries Plus Bulbs franchise opportunity not just because he saw an opportunity in the expanding battery industry, but because the company’s model as a destination store brings an added value to communities other retail stores don’t.
