The light bulb industry today is rapidly-changing due to new breakthroughs in LED lighting technology and the latest company to emerge as a manufacturer is Switch Lighting. Based in Silicon Valley, Switch assembled a team of engineers and physicists in 2007 and revealed their first new bulb last year that has already won several awards for innovation. Switch’s new bulb uses an LQD cooling system which diffuses the light over the surface of the bulb producing a light that is similar to traditional incandescent bulbs. The best part, these new bulbs have a lifespan 25 times longer than incandescent bulbs.
