Future Growing Dim for Traditional Light Bulbs

As we approach the complete phase-out of incandescent bulbs in 2014, many consumers are dreading the day they have to replace all the lights in their homes. Joshua Moore, franchisee of Batteries Plus Bulbs, weighs-in to give those who are dissatisfied with the changes in light bulbs some hope. One major issue consumers have with CFL bulbs is their shape. Moore says that manufacturers have been listening and plan to redesign the spiral-shaped bulbs we see on shelves today. Another issue many have with new forms of bulbs is the cost. LEDs is particular have higher price points that can potentially keep interested customers away. Moore implores buyers to keep in mind the long term benefits though. Although they are more expensive up-front, money and energy will end up being saved in the long run over the lifespan of the bulb as LEDs can last for 25+ years. Read More opens in new window
