Fully Charged: Air Force Veteran Angel Cartagena Plugs In A Batteries Plus

For nearly 25 years Angel Cartagena's life revolved around his service to the United States Air Force. From serving as a bodyguard in Germany to a flight chief in New Jersey, Cartagena says his years in the military helped him develop attributes that have led him to success later in life. After his service, Cartagena spent a few years as a cable TV project manager. However, the combination of excessive travel and long work weeks took its toll and he knew he needed a change. In 2008 he decided to go into business for himself and opened a Batteries Plus in New Jersey. After two years of successful ownership he was approved to receive an SBA veteran-approved loan to help him expand with a second store.
